I consider hardware and software to be an inseparable unit. My focus is on developing lean and maintainable software architectures that ensure consistent code quality using state-of-the-art tooling, including in the embedded sector (CI, Unit Testing, Hardware-in-the-Loop). The spectrum ranges from IoT applications and the networking of complex systems to cloud frontends.

Embedded Development

I program a variety of microcontroller types to control complex systems, either in the modern, memory-safe language Rust or in C/C++. Depending on the requirements, real-time operating systems (FreeRTOS, Embassy) or high-performance bare-metal implementations are used. I have extensive experience with the following microcontrollers:

Functional Safety

A special focus of my work is software development for safety-critical systems. A project implemented in Rust in accordance to ISO 13849, which has been successfully approved by TÜV, serves as a reference. I have also successfully taken safety-relevant software for aerospace applications according to DO-178 from architectural design to certification multiple times.

Embedded Multimedia & Cloud

For demanding multimedia applications, I design embedded Linux systems using Yocto on platforms such as Rockchip, i.MX6 or Raspberry Pi. For IoT applications, I have already developed various cloud backends in Java using IntelliJ/Eclipse for AWS or Azure. Visualization and control are realized with web-based frontends based on e.g. Vaadin or Tauri. I place particular emphasis on intuitive operation and accessibility by design.

From the sensor to the cloud frontend: I develop seamless software architectures without technological media breaks.
